A winter storm that is so severe has enveloped much of the eastern coast of the United States. The winter storm is causing flooding at the shore, strong winds, snow and frigid temperatures which have led to the looming power outage prospects and caused thousands of flights to be canceled. The winter storm has directly caused the death of 12 people, and the icy winds are blowing to speeds of up to 70mph as they travel across the Atlantic Ocean to the north.
Weather experts and meteorologists have said that the winter storm could probably be a bomb cyclone due to the unusual atmospheric pressure drop that has led to conditions that are characteristic of a hurricane. One of the personnel from the United States meteorological department, Ryan Maue, has noted that the winter storms are one of the non-tropical storms that are intensifying at a breakneck speed ever in the history of climate and weather analysis. This weekend, meteorologists have predicted that the storm is likely to be followed by an immediate blast of cold air that is stinging to the face. The cold air blast is expected to break historical records in more than ten cities in the Eastern United States with winds that are 40 degrees below zero. There was more than 3 inches building per hour in most parts of the Rhodes Island and the eastern part of the state of Massachusetts. It is expected that there will be a buildup of more than 10m inches of Snow in the City of New York. This will force hundreds of schools to be closed down and numerous plows and salt spreaders to be deployed to clear the roads and pavements so that transport can resume to normal.
It is expected that the temperatures will plummet to 20 degrees below zero by the end of Friday with a chilly wind blowing through most parts of the east coast. The mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio issued a warning that the winter storm would cause some very detrimental conditions to the residents of the city and made a plea to all residents to stay in their homes this weekend. A state of emergency has also been declared by the Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, in the state and the counties that are in the state’s neighborhood.
