Russia will begin serial production of the new fighter T-50 in 2017

Serial production of the fifth generation fighter T50 will begin in the second half of 2017. This was announced by the governor of the Khabarovsk region of Russia, Vyacheslav Shport before the start of the Second Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

In his words, quoted by, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has so far signed a contract with the manufacturer for a test batch of the new fighter jet. Then the plant will receive a certificate for serial production and will conclude the necessary contracts.

According to available data releases, the new Russian fighter PAK FA (Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation), T50 is developed by the Design Bureau “Sukhoi”. T50 is a multipurpose fighter of the fifth generation, which is to replace in service at the Russian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27 fighter.

For export purposes based on the PAK FA, together with India is being developed a modification of the war machine, with the designation FGFA (Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft).

The new Russian fighter Sukhoi T-50 reaches a speed of 2600 km/h and can fly autonomously to 5.8 hours.

The aircraft will be 15 times more invisible for enemy radar than its predecessor Sukhoi Su-27.
