Mom Thanks a Flight Attendant Who Calmed her Baby

After the series of recent news about passengers being mistreated by air personnel one mom decided to write a “Thank you” post to one flight attendant on her Facebook.

Whitney Poyntz was returning from holiday with her husband and 4-month-old daughter when they boarded Palm Springs to Calgary flight 1475 on April 19. Their baby was asleep and they expected a smooth ride home, which unfortunately was not the case.

The captain woke the baby when he greeted the passengers over the intercom, which according to Whitney was no one’s fault. The baby was nursed back to sleep and the parents decided to watch a movie while flying. 30 minutes afterwards, however, the little one woke up and started crying and her parents were trying to calm her down “unfortunately those seats aren’t made for rocking or trying to put a baby back to sleep,” wrote Whitney in her post.

At that time a flight attendant named Ashley approached and to the surprise of the new mom asked if she could take the baby for a walk up and down the aisle in an attempt to calm her down.

Whitney wrote: “The experience was amazing. Never would I ever think someone would ever do that, volunteer to take your screaming child, but she did. WestJet (Ashley), I would like to thank you for the over and above customer service (baby whispering) that you gave, truly the greatest airline.”

This may not seem like a big deal to some people but it meant a lot to the new parents and that is why the mom decided that good deeds are worth reporting too.
