Mig-29 KR landed on “Admiral Kuznetsov” for the first time

Serial multipurpose fighter MiG-29KR for the first time landed on the deck of the Russian aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”. This was reported by the Russian news agency “Interfax”, citing its own sources.

The landing took place with fighter and pilot from the composition of the 100th Shipborne Fighter Aviation Regiment from the Naval Aviation of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.

On July 31, the carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” took part in the celebrations for the Day of the Navy in Severomorsk and sailed to participate in the training of pilots of Naval Aviation of Russia. By the middle of the month, the ship will return and will go for repairs and servicing.

For now, it is unknown if on its deck will be located just planes of the 279th independent Shipborne Assault Aviation Regiment which is armed with Su-33 and Su-25UTG or will be used also the new MiG-29KR / KUB (articles 9 and 9-41R 47P).
