Fighter F/A-18 crashed in the US state of Nevada

Washington. A pilot of the Air Force of the US Navy was able to successfully eject from a fighter that crashed in northern Nevada during a training mission, says Colorado Springs Gazette.

Press secretary of the airbase “Fallon” Joseph Vincent confirmed that fighter F/A-18C “Hornet” crashed on Tuesday morning about 15 km from the base, which is located about 100 km east of Reno.

He added that the pilot was coming off a routine training mission when he had to be ejected from the plane. He was picked up at the base.

Vincent did not give details on the status of the pilot. He was taken to the hospital. At the moment the details and causes of the accident are being investigated.
