The airline Eurowings started long-haul flights to North America, trying to establish regular routes to the largest air transport market in the world. The first flight of the European company will be EW186 on June 1 to Boston, USA. Eurowings offers customers for the first time a direct flight from the Cologne-Bonn airport on the east coast of North America at competitive prices, starting from 144.99 EUR. Eurowings became the first low-cost airline, which offers from the heart of Europe to near and far distances. The company will start long-haul flights to Miami in late Summer, as well as another three long destinations until the end of the year.

“Good prices for direct flights demonstrate our desire to follow the trend, based on – the desire of our customers to fly the shortest routes even over long distances. Our aircraft on new long-haul destinations in Thailand and Cuba are filled with more than 90%”, said the head of Eurowings, Oliver Wagner. “Eurowings will become even more attractive for travelers who look for the best prices. Every new aircraft A330 makes our system even more flexible and sustainable, allowing to offer customers the level of punctuality and reliability they expect”, added he.

The long-haul fleet of the company, the first phase consisted of two Airbus A330 aircraft, has grown considerably over the past six months. The delivery of the fourth aircraft of this type will allow Eurowings to offer passengers direct flights from Europe to USA at competitive prices.

Moreover, in the coming months, the number of routes from Cologne/Bonn Airport will increase. The next target flight of ​​Eurowings to USA is Miami, which is is scheduled to start in September 1, 2016. Tickets in Miami are already possible to book at a price of 179.99 EUR.
Eurowings operates more than 3,000 scheduled flights per week, and is one of the most punctual European carriers. Even with two long-haul aircraft in the park, the first phase of construction of the route network, the airline managed to improve their punctuality. Since the company started operating flights on long distance, about 90% of the passengers were able to arrive at your destination with a delay of 60 minutes or less on schedule.
