Turkish police have arrested another 17 people on suspicion of involvement in the bombing at the airport “Ataturk” in Istanbul.
In previous days information came out about 13 arrested on the same suspicion, which means that currently the total number of suspects for involvement in the attack, who are in custody, is 30, writes BBC.
Later it was reported that the prosecution in Istanbul has raised accusations against 17 people for their involvement in the bombing at the airport “Ataturk”, 11 Russian citizens and six Turkish citizens. The information spread agency DHA, quoted by agency Novosti.
The president of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan said that under suspicion are Russian citizens of Dagestan and also citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
After the bloody attack that killed 45 people and nearly 230 were admitted with injuries in hospitals, authorities said that the immediate perpetrators of the attack are citizens of Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Later on, Turkish media reported that among those detained there are arrests of Russian citizens. However, official confirmation of this information is not yet available.
In a preliminary assessment of Turkish investigators, announced officially by the Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, and the President the handwriting of the attack indicates that it was carried out by “Islamic state.”
